Puppies raised by the dog who raised the farm.

Maggie is a Bernese Mountain Dog on ten acres north of Austin. She brought up our chickens, goats, emus, guineas and ducks from the day they arrived. On October 3 she had four Bernedoodle puppies of her own.

Every animal on the ranch grew up with Maggie's nose in its business. Her puppies will too. They'll meet feathers, hooves and the farm dogs before they ever meet your front door, so nothing much rattles them.

Meet Maggie

Gentle enough to raise a duckling. Steady enough to raise a puppy.

Maggie is two years old, purebred Bernese Mountain Dog, and the reason this whole thing exists. When a new animal shows up on the property, she's the first one to check it over and the last one to leave its side. The ducks follow her to the water. The goats nap against her. She has never met a creature she wanted to chase.

That temperament is the single most important thing we're breeding for, and it's why we chose Maggie to be a mother.

The pairing

Maggie × Sonny

A Bernese Mountain Dog mother and a Standard Poodle father make a first-generation Bernedoodle: the Berner's calm, affectionate nature in a curlier, furnished coat.
